Refuse/Recycling

Single Stream Recycling
Beginning July 1, 2008, the Township is now participating in single-stream recycling. Waste Management will now utilize a single dedicated truck for the collection of all recyclables. It is a standard garbage truck with a placard on either side indicating “RECYCLING”. With single stream recycling, they now have the ability to commingle all recyclables, taking a greater quantity in a larger truck, thus making fewer trips to the recycling facility.

West Nile Encephalitis and Mosquito Reduction: West Nile Encephalitis is a viral disease transmitted by mosquitoes. Once a mosquito bites an infected bird the mosquito can then transmit the virus to the next bird, animal or human it bites. Dispose of tin cans, plastic containers, old tires or anything that can hold water where mosquitoes can breed. Always check pools and ornamental ponds and use proper screening on doors and windows. Call the Lehigh County Cooperative Extension West Nile Resource Center at 610-391-9840 for more information.
