INVITATION TO BID

TOWNSHIP OF SALISBURY
LEHIGH COUNTY, PA

The Township of Salisbury will receive sealed bids for the construction of two separate water main replacement projects. Contract "A" work will include the installation of approximately 450' of 12" DIP water main and appurtenances along Flexer Ave. between Cedar Lane and Lindberg Ave. Contract "B" work will include the installation of approximately 750' of 6" DIP water main along Clearwood Drive. between Meadowbrook Circle North and Meadowbrook Circle West. Sealed bids will be received until 3:00 PM (prevailing time) on Tuesday, April 05, 2011, at the office the Township Manager, 2900 S. Pike Avenue, Allentown PA 18103. Bids will be opened Wednesday April 06, 2011, at 10:00 AM at the Township of Salisbury Municipal Building, 2900 S. Pike Avenue, Allentown, PA 18103, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. All bids should be sealed, marked and addressed as follows:

PROPOSAL FOR EITHER: CONTRACT "A" - Flexer Avenue Water Main Replacement
CONTRACT "B" - Clearwood Drive Water Main Replacement

Mailed Bids must be placed in a separate carrier envelope noted "BID ENCLOSED". All mailed bids must be received at the Township before or on Tuesday April 05, 2011 by 3:00 PM (prevailing time)

Copies of the Drawings, Specifications and Bid Forms may be examined and obtained at Keystone Consulting Engineers, Inc., 6235 Hamilton Boulevard, Wescosville, PA 18106, upon request and deposit of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) per set. The full amount of the deposit for one set of documents will be refunded to a bona fide bidder who returns the documents in good condition within ten (10) days after the date of the bid opening.

Each bid must be accompanied by Bid Security made payable to the Township of Salisbury in an amount of ten percent (10%) of the Bid price and in the form of a certified or bank check or a Bid Bond issued by a surety meeting the requirements of Paragraph 5.01 of the General Conditions. The successful bidder must furnish Performance and Payment Bonds each in the amount equal to the Contract Price and meeting the requirements of Paragraph 5.01 of the General Conditions.

Bidders may bid on either contract "A" or "B" individually or both Contracts "A" and "B" combined.

The project is subject to minimum wage rates in accordance with the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act.

The Township of Salisbury reserves the right to waive any informality in, and to reject, any or all bids or to award one or both contracts individually or both contracts combined, in the best interest of the Township.
