The Salisbury Township Environmental Advisory Committee would like to extend an invite to Salisbury Township residents and others familiar with Natural Resources to attend our monthly meeting on June 16, 2010 at 7:00 PM at the Salisbury Township Municipal Building.

If anyone would like to participate or share information or even ask questions about the Natural Resource Inventory we would welcome your input. The type of information we are seeking to identify, characterize and map includes items such as types of forests or other vegetation; significant or sensitive native plant communities; game and non-game wildlife and habitat; wetlands, ground water seeps, vernal pools, natural drainage areas, streams, rivers and ponds/lakes; areas of Karst geological formations and other various types of natural resources such as steep slopes, scenic views, unique geological formations; and historic structures just to name a few.

Once an inventory is collected it serves as a basis of analysis based upon the intended purpose for the work. The results will provide scientifically based analysis for existing habitat for particular wildlife; potential greenway connections or recreational facilities; potential for preservation or habitat restoration efforts; as well as provide areas for management of resources.

We look forward to your participation in this event. Please feel free to contact the Township of Salisbury Environmental Advisory Committee secretary, Cynthia Sopka at 610-797-4000 for additional information.
