Drop Off Center Operator

Salisbury Township seeks an operator for its yard waste drop-off centers at Franko Park and Devonshire Rd for the 2020 seasons. The hours for the position are 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Saturdays (March to December) plus 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays (June-August). The operator will be responsible for checking visitors I.D.’s to ensure residency, making sure only appropriate materials (per Township standards) are dropped off at the site for recycling, direct traffic and assist with unloading of vehicles, if necessary. The position requires individual to work outside, possibly in adverse weather conditions, and to have frequent interaction with the public as well as regular standing, walking and/or lifting of objects up to 50 lbs. Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or G.E.D., valid PA driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs. $12/hour.     The Salisbury Township Board of Commissioners meets on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at the Salisbury Township Municipal Building, 2900 South Pike Avenue, Allentown, PA 18103. The regular meeting session, during which items are voted on and publicly discussed, begins at 7:00 p.m. Work sessions (commonly referred to as workshops) sometimes follow the close of the regular meeting session. These work sessions are not formal meetings and no policy decisions are made, but primarily are used to determine what issues will come before the board for official consideration at future meetings.
